North Main Rehabilitation Project
Tice Median Project: IN PROGRESS
Contractors have been busy removing eucalyptus trees from the Tice Valley Boulevard Medians. Due to safety concerns, a total of 17 trees have been removed. The Eucalyptus trees were prone to falling during severe storms, and posed a fire hazard as we experience warm temperatures well into the fall season. This is the first phase of a project to revive the median. Over the next year, the irrigation system will be repaired and new landscaping will be installed, including the addition of over 110 trees. Furthermore, the new landscape plan will also be used to create a bio-retention area (rain garden), treating urban run-off before it enters the storm drain system.
