Ongoing Opportunities

Walnut Creek Recreation

Volunteer Drivers and Dispatchers: Help seniors throughout Walnut Creek get to appointments, social events and more. Driver shifts available weekdays 8am to 12pm or 12pm to 4pm. Dispatcher shifts available weekdays 8:30am to 10:30am.

Receptionist: Support the Walnut Creek Seniors Club in bringing programs and services to the community. Assist with answering questions, processing memberships and event ticket purchases, and welcoming visitors to Civic Park Community  Center.

Pancake Breakfast Volunteer: Assist with set up, food preparation, serving and/or clean up for the Walnut Creek Seniors Club Pancake Breakfast, held on the first Sunday of each month.

Bedford Gallery

Docents: After receiving training, you'll lead youth and adults on interactive tours of current exhibits at the gallery and take part in hands-on art projects.

Art in a Suitcase Program: Bring art education to the classroom and engage students in art, science and writing with hands-on art activities. Training is provided.

Guild Members: Staff the front desk, host opening receptions and participate in fundraising efforts year round.

Lesher Center for the Arts

Ushers: Join the team of volunteer ushers and help provide a wonderful experience for theatergoers. Interested volunteers must attend one of two yearly orientations.

One Time Projects

Annual Walnut Creek Community Service Day

Held in the fall, this annual event brings together over 1,200 volunteers for service projects throughout Walnut Creek. Support our Arts + Recreation programs through projects that beautify our parks and playgrounds, support our public art program, help organize our community centers, and more!
