The California Highway Patrol is known as one of the finest law enforcement agencies in the world. The purpose of the training regimen is to instill pride and discipline in each cadet. Upon arriving you will enjoy a hosted cafeteria lunch with seating in the Executive dining room (if available). After lunch you will be able to observe the Memorial Fountain Ceremony in the Quad, which honors their fallen officers. After the conclusion of the ceremony the group will head to the Administration Bldg. and meet with their tour guide to begin the tour of the Academy grounds; which encompasses the museum, classrooms, fountain, gym and staff office area. SANTA CRUZ BEACH TRAIN

Your day will begin in the beautiful Santa Cruz mountains as you board “Roaring Camps” Beach train. Traveling through the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, down the San Lorenzo River and across the 1090 steel truss bridge and through an 1875 tunnel before arriving at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. When the train route opened in 1875 it was the passageway for not only lumber but picnickers and tourists to the Big Trees of Santa Cruz. The Boardwalk’s roots go back to 1865, when John Leibrandt opened a public bathhouse near the mouth of the San Lorenzo River, the boardwalk then evolved in 1907. The family-operated Boardwalk has been entertaining guests by the beautiful beachside for over 110 years. Enjoy a no host lunch at the Boardwalk before you return to Walnut Creek. Will it be a Corndog, Funnel Cake or Garlic French Fries that satisfy the kid in you?
