Thank you to everyone who participated in Walnut Creek's 2019 Parking Day

What Is PARK(ing) Day?

PARK(ing) Day is an international pop-up event held annually that provides a glimpse of what’s possible when you look at on-street parking as a public space instead of limiting it to vehicle storage.  The City of Walnut Creek is re-imagining our downtown during 2019 PARK(ing) Day on Friday, October 4, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. The City of Walnut Creek is teaming up with local organizations including Bike Walnut Creek and Fehr & Peers to create several installations in the Downtown area.  On-street parking spaces will be re-purposed to create interactive exhibits on Locust Street between Civic Drive and Mt. Diablo Blvd.

The original PARK(ing) Day was created in 2005 by Rebar, a San Francisco-based art and design studio. The project has since blossomed into a worldwide grassroots movement.
