City welcomes new Assistant City Manager
Local government veteran Teri Killgore brings expertise to Walnut Creek in budget, finance, economic development and operations
East Bay resident Teri Killgore has been selected to serve as the City’s Assistant City Manager. In her role, she will provide leadership to key City functions including innovation and economic development, administration, emergency services, risk management, and organizational development.
Killgore brings twenty years of high level administrative and managerial skills to the position, having served in a variety of public and private sector organizations. She joined the City in 2018 as a Project Manager, overseeing updates to City policies and the implementation of a new financial forecast model.
“We are fortunate that Teri was available to join the City of Walnut Creek as she is a great addition to our team,” noted City Manager Dan Buckshi. “When the Assistant City Manager position became available, her innovative approaches and track record of success made her the ideal choice.”

Prior to joining the City of Walnut Creek, Killgore previously served as Assistant City Manager in Vallejo, and Assistant to the City Manager and first civic innovation manager in San Jose. She began her civic career in Fremont, then worked in several local government agencies in Arizona. Prior to public service, Killgore was a consultant and manager at Deloitte Consulting, assisting large corporations and states in implementing technology across their operations. She graduated from the University of Washington, with her Master of Public Administration Degree awarded from Syracuse University.
