Parks & Picnic Rentals

In response to the Contra Costa Health Services order to cease non-essential operations and gatherings in order to limit community exposure to COVID-19, all City buildings are closed until further notice.

The following outdoor recreation facilities have reopened: Boundary Oak Golf Course, Heather Farm Tennis Center, tennis & pickleball courts in various parks, Disc Golf at Walden Park, Heather Farm Skate Park, Heather Farm Dog Park. All playgrounds remain closed. All parks and open space are currently open. Please respect social distancing recommendations when visiting our parks.

The City of Walnut Creek has 16 parks spread throughout the City as well as over 3,000 acres of Open Space.

Picnic Rentals are available at Heather Farm Park and Larkey Park while other parks have picnic areas on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Nestled between Ivy Hill Apartments and the Regent on the Park Condos. The site was purchased by the City in the 1980s and developed into a park for the City by Ivy Hill developer. Alma Park is a passive park that features rolling lawn, benches, decorative arbors, and an impressive view of Mount Diablo.
