  Sample Website

This website has been set up as an aid for those looking to create a "Neighborhood Website." It can be used as an example of what a neighborhood website might contain, or as a template for those who do not want to start a site "from scratch." If you would like to use this as your neighborhood's website, simply open it in FrontPage, type your Association's name in the banner, delete the instructions and add your own text and pictures. Although you are welcome to keep the format of this site, you are also encouraged to create an individual site to reflect your neighborhood.

City Page: Whatever format you choose for your site, it should contain a link to www.walnut-creek.org/neighborhoods/citypage.htm. This is a page that the City of Walnut Creek will maintain, and to which all neighborhood websites will have access.

Thank you for stepping forward to create a website for your Walnut Creek neighborhood. We hope that you will find the process both exciting and rewarding.

Your home page should greet your visitors, and give them a brief overview of what your site is all about. It's also a good place to put news updates.

Things to Include:

  • Greeting
  • Description of your neighborhood (including location, number of units, facilities, etc.)
  • History of the area
  • Photos/maps of the area
  • What your site has to offer
  • Updates: What's new with the site or with your neighborhood

Also, give them a link to email the Webmaster (you) with feedback and suggestions for the website. Example:

Please send your comments and suggestions to the Webmaster. Thank you!
