BLOCK PARTY INSURANCE RATES

- Insurance is required and covers only the portion of the block party that occurs on the public right-of-way. The public right-of-way includes the street and the sidewalk. Homeowners insurance would cover other areas.
- If alcohol is sold or money changes hands for tickets to a party that has alcohol, then additional liquor liability insurance is required.
- The applicant can be one or more persons or an official homeowners association.
- The applicant for the street closure permit is the person/association that is insured.
- The insured applicant cannot make a claim against the insurance.
BLOCK PARTY STREET CLOSURE PERMIT RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Loud, excessive or unreasonable noise is prohibited in the City of Walnut Creek. Please be considerate of your neighbors.
2. Do not block Fire Hydrants. Provide access for Emergency vehicles as necessary.
3. After the party is over, please clean up the street and sidewalk.
4. You cannot sell alcohol without a letter from the Walnut Creek Police Department and a permit from the State of California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control. Anyone serving alcohol must ensure that no minors under 21 are given, or are allowed to possess alcohol.
