Ygnacio Valley Road sidewalk widening under way
Stimulus funding logoThe City of Walnut Creek has received Federal funding to widen the sidewalk on the north side of Ygnacio Valley Road between Ygnacio Court and Marchbanks Drive (west).
The project is under way and is expected to be completed by December. Work will be done Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with traffic lane closures limited to 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The sidewalk on the north side of Ygnacio Valley Road will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians and bicyclists will be directed to an alternate route until the construction is completed.

Commission applications now being accepted
Applications are being accepted to fill vacancies on the Design Review, Planning and Transportation commissions. Applicants for the Planning and Transportation Commissions must be residents of the City of Walnut Creek and registered voters. A registered architect is preferred for the Design Review Commission vacancy; the applicant need not be a resident and registered voter in Walnut Creek.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15. Additional information and an application is available on our website.
