 Oak Grove Road Rehabilitation

Dates: Beginning May 2018

Description: The Oak Grove Road Rehabilitation Project will include the following improvements from the City Limit at the Canal Trail extending to Cedro Lane:

Sidewalk Repair and Americans with Disabilities Act Improvements – Damaged sidewalks will be repaired and curb ramp upgrades in conformance with the Americans with Disabilities Act will be installed inside the project limits.  This work will be performed between7:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M, Monday through Friday.  Portions of the sidewalk will be closed during the construction period.  Pedestrians will be directed to take alternative routes until repairs are complete.

Roadway Repaving from Canal Trail to Encina Camino -   The top layer of the asphalt roadway will be removed and replaced, and the roadway areas where the asphalt is starting to fail will be repaired. This will occur overnight from Sunday through Thursday between 8:00 P.M. and 5:00 A.M, in order to reduce traffic impacts, and to increase worker safety.  This work is scheduled to begin on Sunday, June 3, 2018 and is scheduled to be completed by Monday, June 11, 2018.

Roadway Repaving from Encina Camino to Cedro Lane - The top layer of the asphalt roadway will be removed and replaced, and the roadway areas where the asphalt is starting to fail will be repaired.  This work will be performed between 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M, Monday through Friday, in order to reduce impacts to traffic.  This work will be scheduled after the completion of the concrete work.

Impacts: Changeable message signs will be placed on Oak Grove Road before the paving operations to notify residents and through-traffic of the exact dates of the work.  During construction, “No Parking” signs will be posted in advance of work.  Vehicles that are left in posted areas will be towed, if necessary, at the vehicle owner’s expense.  The City understands that there will be inconveniences due to the construction of this project and will try to maintain access and minimize any expected lane closures or delays.  Portions of the sidewalk will be closed during the sidewalk repair construction, and pedestrians will be directed to take alternative routes.

2018 Slurry Seal

Dates: June 11, 2018

Description: The City will be slurry sealing roads this summer.  Slurry seal consists of fine sandy materials, mixed with a different type of oil (emulsion) that will make the street surface relatively smooth. The sealing process will protect the existing roadway asphalt pavement.  The preventive maintenance work will extend the life of the pavement and save money compared with much costlier repairs in the future.  Certain roads will be patch paved in preparation for the slurry seal.

Slurry Seal: All streets listed here will receive a slurry seal, beginning the week of June 11, 2018.  Exact work dates on specific streets have not yet been determined.  A second notice and/or door hanger will be delivered to you by the contractor the week before the resurfacing work is to begin.  This notice will let you know which day(s) to expect the work.  Also, before the work begins, the contractor will post barricade signs on those streets that will receive the new resurfacing treatment.

Impacts: Over the course of this work, you may experience traffic delays.  Some streets may be closed to traffic.  In preparation of any street closure, barricade signs will be posted in advance.  During the street closure, no parking will be allowed on the streets between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.  You will not be able to drive or walk during the work. There will be no vehicular access to driveways and streets.  Access will be provided in the event of an emergency.
