The Walnut Creek Police Department is the primary answering point for all 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls for the City of Walnut Creek.  The communications center operates 24-hours a day, 7 days a week by a team of highly skilled and dedicated Public Safety Dispatchers.  Our dispatchers serve as the vital link between those in need of help and emergency services personnel.

In 2017, our dispatchers processed close 85,000 incoming calls, over 23,000 of which were 9-1-1 calls.  Our team proudly answered 98.89% of the 9-1-1 calls in less than 10 seconds.  Dispatch created over 51,000 calls for service and made over 25,000 outgoing service calls for patrol.     

Reporting emergencies

Call 9-1-1 to report an in-progress crime, fire or to request emergency medical attention.  (Life or death)
You may dial 925-935-6400 for urgent situations that are not life-threatening emergencies.

Reporting non-emergencies

To report a non-emergency incident, call WCPD dispatch non-emergency at 925-943-5844 (press 2)

Some non-emergency calls may include:
Noise disturbances
Loitering
Thefts or burglaries that are not in progress
Cold crimes
