Boundary Oak Golf Course Liaison

Hourly Rate: $40-45 per hour, commensurate with experience

 

Hours: The Liaison is expected to work 15-20 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with some evening and weekend hours as necessary. The work locations will consist of a balance of on-site work at Boundary Oak, City Hall, and possibly another remote location. The anticipated start date for this position is September 5, 2018.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Boundary Oak Golf Course Liaison serves as the primary staff interface between the City of Walnut Creek and CourseCo, Inc, the City’s golf course operator. The joint mission of the Liaison and CourseCo is to optimize the services to Boundary Oak’s customers and maximize financial performance. To achieve these ends, the Liaison is focused on three primary objectives in partnership with the operator:

  1. Provide for the highest quality experience compared to high mid-market municipally-owned golf courses
  2. Achieve the desired results of an effective maintenance program and promote sustainable practices
  3. Achieve or exceed budgeted results

To ensure the success of these objectives, the Liaison is responsible for contract oversight, timely and accurate communication, and development and implementation of short and long-term plans; all with an eye toward enhancing the value of the City’s asset.

Coaches For After School Sports

Hourly Rate: Coaches are paid a stipend for the competitive league and on an hourly basis for the intramural program.

Duties & Responsibilities: The City Of Walnut Creek is looking for coaches for its after-school intramural and competitive sports programs at Foothill Middle and Walnut Creek Intermediate School. Coaches are needed for girls’ volleyball September-October, girls' and boys’ basketball from November through March, and for boys’ volleyball and co-ed golf coaches from March through May. Community Arts Preschool is seeking a Preschool Coordinator to support Community Arts Preschool’s Lead Teachers and Co-teachers across three locations. The Preschool Coordinator is an important member of the preschool team, working closely with Lead Preschool Teacher as staff development support and a curriculum coach. The Preschool Coordinator will ensure that all classes are appropriately staffed throughout the year. If needed, the Preschool Coordinator will step in as needed to fill teaching vacancies or absences. The Preschool Coordinator reports to the Program Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities: Under immediate supervision, the position assists in organizing and coordinating community arts production services in the Lesher Center For the Arts; serves as equipment operator during technical rehearsals and performances; ensures that lighting and sound equipment used are in proper working order and operating as predetermined; installs and maintains stage lighting and related technical systems; operates sound, lighting, communication and stage equipment, and performs routine repair work as needed; builds and installs sets and scenery including stage props and furniture; monitors use of City facilities and assists community groups during evening and weekend times to assure proper use, and performs related work as needed.

 

Desired Qualifications: Educational achievement equivalent to graduation from high school, along with one or two years experience in community arts programs, preferably in performing arts; at least one year experience in technical theatre work or other related performing arts programs; ability to work well with the public; possession of or ability to obtain, prior to employment, a Class C California Driver's License and a good driving record.

The position uses specialized computer software to sell tickets, both in the main ticket office as well as at outlet locations for the Lesher Center For the Arts; assists guests with questions, directions, and comments/complaints; works in cooperation with the house managers, theatre technicians, volunteer ushers, and other staff to ensure that events run smoothly.

Desired Qualifications: Educational achievement equivalent to graduation from high school is desired. Courteous, responsible and self motivated individuals encouraged to apply. Applicant should naturally enjoy dealing with people and be able to ‘think on your feet’. Knowledge of the Lesher Center and it's programming, mission, and layout is desired. Must be able to work shift work, including week days, evenings and weekends.
