Camp Leaders direct games, arts & crafts, songs, and trips for Recreation Day Camps and Specialized Recreation Camp.

Studio Tech - Ceramics

Center for Community Arts Studio Tech assists with the technical and operational aspects of Center for Community Arts’ ceramics studio as part of an educational, community based environment. The Studio Tech supports Youth and Adult ceramic programs with studio maintenance, upkeep and other related duties. This is a part time position of approximately 12 hours per week for 10 weeks each quarter (40 weeks throughout the year) with flexible hours scheduled between 9am and 5 pm, Monday-Friday - some evenings and weekends.

Coaches For After School Sports

Hourly Rate: Coaches are paid a stipend for the competitive league and on an hourly basis for the intramural program.

Duties & Responsibilities: The City Of Walnut Creek is looking for coaches for its after-school intramural and competitive sports programs at Foothill Middle and Walnut Creek Intermediate School. Coaches are needed for girls’ volleyball September-October, girls' and boys’ basketball from November through March, and for boys’ volleyball and co-ed golf coaches from March through May. Duties & Responsibilities: Under immediate supervision, the position assists in organizing and coordinating community arts production services in the Lesher Center For the Arts; serves as equipment operator during technical rehearsals and performances; ensures that lighting and sound equipment used are in proper working order and operating as predetermined; installs and maintains stage lighting and related technical systems; operates sound, lighting, communication and stage equipment, and performs routine repair work as needed; builds and installs sets and scenery including stage props and furniture; monitors use of City facilities and assists community groups during evening and weekend times to assure proper use, and performs related work as needed.

 

Desired Qualifications: Educational achievement equivalent to graduation from high school, along with one or two years experience in community arts programs, preferably in performing arts; at least one year experience in technical theatre work or other related performing arts programs; ability to work well with the public; possession of or ability to obtain, prior to employment, a Class C California Driver's License and a good driving record.

The position uses specialized computer software to sell tickets, both in the main ticket office as well as at outlet locations for the Lesher Center For the Arts; assists guests with questions, directions, and comments/complaints; works in cooperation with the house managers, theatre technicians, volunteer ushers, and other staff to ensure that events run smoothly.

Desired Qualifications: Educational achievement equivalent to graduation from high school is desired. Courteous, responsible and self motivated individuals encouraged to apply. Applicant should naturally enjoy dealing with people and be able to ‘think on your feet’. Knowledge of the Lesher Center and it's programming, mission, and layout is desired. Must be able to work shift work, including week days, evenings and weekends.
