The approval of Proposition 64 legalized recreational marijuana use by those over 21. In addition, it permits cultivation of up to 6 plants per private residence, and opens the door to commercial marijuana operations such as retail sales, commercial cultivation and processing facilities.
The City Council continues to consider next steps for regulations regarding personal use on residential property, and potential guidelines for commercial cannabis operations. At the City Council’s public meeting on June 19th, another discussion will be held on this topic.
The meeting agenda and supporting documents with staff recommendations will be available to the public on our meeting agenda webpage on Friday, June 15.
