New "green" streetlights on Ygnacio Valley Road
Thanks to a partnership between the City and PG&E, 126 street lights along Ygnacio Valley Road between Oakland Boulevard and Marchbanks have been replaced with energy-saving light-emitting diodes (more commonly called LEDs). The new lights use about half the energy of the former lights, saving nearly $10,000 a year.
