Walnut Creek introduces first "scramble" intersections
Walnut Creek's first diagonal, or "Scramble," intersections opened November 18 at the intersections of Olympic Boulevard and South Main Street, and Olympic Boulevard and Locust Street. the goal of these intersections is to make it easier, and safer, to get around by reducing potential conflicts between pedestrians in crosswalks and vehicles making right turns. Annual Holiday Concert by Walnut Creek Concert Band
The Walnut Creek Concert Band, under the direction of Harvey Benstein, presents their Annual Holiday Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lesher Center for the Arts. The program will feature seasonal favorites plus the world premier of Barry Green’s "Anna’s Gift, the Way of Passion," a multimedia event for concert band, narrator and bass soloist with background visuals.  More...
Holiday Tree lighting at Civic Park from 5-6 p.m. Nov. 29
Join family and friends at Civic Park on Saturday, Nov. 29 for the Holiday Tree Lighting. Meet at 5 p.m. at the ice rink, where a special guest will be on hand to greet celebrants, then walk over to the gazebo to see the tree come ablaze with lights when the Mayor flips the switch. Emceed by Dan Ashley of ABC-TV, the free festivities include carolers and tasty treats.
