Walnut Creek Aquatics is now hiring for Spring & Summer 2011
We are actively seeking Lifeguards and/or Swim Instructors (15 yrs+) and support staff. We accept American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificates or Ellis & Associates International Lifeguarding Certificates. Desirable candidates must enjoy the water, outdoors, children, and have a current lifeguarding certificate. For more information please call 943-5856. If you enjoy working outdoors, with kids and teens, or would like to teach swimming skills, we’re the place for you! We are seeking team oriented people to work for one of the most prestigious pools in the Bay Area. We would like to offer everyone the opportunity to become a Lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor.
Requirements: Applicants do not need prior job experience but aquatics experience is desirable. Applicants should display a good work ethic, sense of teamwork, and a willingness to help strengthen our community through the exciting field of aquatics.
Acceptable Lifeguard Certificates include:
American Red Cross Lifeguard Training - CPR-FPR & AED
or
Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certificate
Summer Program: June - Labor Day
Staff Training: June 13-17
LIFEGUARD / SWIM INSTRUCTOR
15 years and older
$9.00 – $13 /hr. + swim instructor incentives
Responsibilities:
- Provide safety for our patrons.
- Enforce pool rules and regulations.
- Respond as trained to emergencies
- Instruct swim classes for all ages.
- Supervise aquatic related activities.
- Provide excellent customer service
- Maintenance and cleaning duties
- Other related duties as assigned.
Lifeguard Readiness Requirements:
We hire on the provision that you possess or have the ability to obtain a current lifeguard certification prior to the first day of staff training. Swim 300 yards using freestyle & breast stroke, tread water for 2 minutes, retrieve 10lbs brick from bottom of diving well.
Demonstrate all water rescue skills.
