The City of Walnut Creek recognized the energy crisis that we faced in 2001. In order to do our part in conservation, we have in place a program to convert the all the signal heads in the city to LEDs. This conversion will not only save energy, but it will cut the costs to run the signal system by a significant amount. Along with this program is to install battery back-ups at crucial locations within the city. These back-ups will keep the signal lights running, even if there is a power failure. This will aid in keeping the streets of Walnut Creek flowing and provide a safer commute.
