NEWS:

BIKE THEFT
is a growing problem not just in Walnut Creek but nationwide.  The Walnut Creek Police Department offers a bike permitting process to make it easier to identify the owner when a bike is found or recovered.  This service is free of charge and can be done at our public counter Monday-Thursday 8am to 5pm.  We have also partnered with the National Bike Registry (https://www.nationalbikeregistry.com/) which is a nationwide online database where owners can register their bikes, 24-7, and police departments can securely access the information to identify owners.  There is a fee for this service which is payable directly to the National Bike Registry, which is actually located in Emeryville. We would like to encourage you to register your bikes so in the unfortunate event that your bike is stolen we have one tool available to get it back to you. If you have any questions please contact our main police number at (925) 943-5844.
