  Smoking Regulations

On October 1, 2013, the Walnut Creek City Council adopted a comprehensive Second Hand Smoke Protections Ordinance to protect residents and visitors of Walnut Creek from the harmful effects of second hand smoke.

The ordinance prohibits smoking throughout the downtown Pedestrian Retail District; within all multi-unit residencies, common areas, balconies and within 25 feet of all enclosed areas; all City parks and open space areas; places of employment; public places; outdoor dining areas; within 25 feet of all enclosed areas where smoking is prohibited; and all service areas (i.e. ATM and ticket lines).
