The City received certification of its Housing Element which sets forth the City's housing strategies to address housing needs for the 2009-2014 period in a letter from the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) dated March 2, 2010.
The process started in January of 2009 with a series of community meetings, and continued throughout the year with Planning Commission and City Council Study Sessions, followed by two submittals to the State HCD. On December 15, 2009, the City Council adopted the 2009-2014 Housing Element. The Housing Element was officially certified by HCD on March 2, 2010.
