| Housing Programs|Welcome to the Walnut Creek Housing Division
The City of Walnut Creek's Housing Division administers housing programs for low- and moderate-income renters, first-time homebuyers, and homeowners. The City's wide array of programs includes rehabilitation loans and grants, downpayment assistance loans, an inventory of affordable rental units for families and seniors, and affordable for-sale units provided through the Inclusionary Housing Program.
Our mission is to create, preserve and improve a range of housing opportunities and supportive programs serving an economically diverse community.
New Affordable Housing Project - Applications Available!
Third Avenue Apartments, a newly constructed low-income rental project, is now accepting applications for one, two and three bedroom apartments. The project is located at 1550 Third Avenue in Walnut Creek. Please click on the links below for more information and to download the application. All applications MUST be postmarked by September 30, 2014.

Draft Housing Element - Public Review
The City recieved conditional approval from HCD on the 2015-2023 Draft Housing Element. Two public hearings for the housing element are upcoming: Planning Commission on August 14, 2014, and City Council on September 16, 2014.
New Affordable Townhomes at Pleasant Creek
Applications available for two units affordable to moderate-income households at 1909 and 1933 Barkley Avenue. There is a 3-bedroom and 4-bedroom unit available in the new Pleant Creek Homes Community. For more infomation, please view the flyer.
New Affordable Senior Housing in Martinez!
Berrellesa Palms Apartments in Martinez offers 48 affordable one bedroom units for seniors (62+) who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, and have a long term chronic health condition. Subsidized by the Housing Choice Project Based Voucher Program, tenant rents will be set at 30% of each household's adjusted income. For more information, view the flyer.
Below Market Rate Apartments Available at The Oaks in Walnut Creek

Upcoming Below Market Rate Homes in Neighboring Orinda!
Orinda Grove, a new residential development currently under construction in Orinda, will have eight below market rate homes available for moderate-income households. The City of Orinda is hosting a workshop on January 13, 2014 to provide prospective buyers with the details of the application process and the requirements for purchase of the below market rate homes. for more information visit the City of Orinda's website or view the workshop flier.
New HOA Helper Grant Program!
In partnership with teh Contra Costa Assocation of Realtros, the City is offering eligible new first-time homebuyers up to $2,500 to cover six months of their Homeowners Assocation dues. For more information, view the HOA Helper Grant Program Guidelines.
Homeless Support in Walnut Creek
Trinity Center, located at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (1924 Trinity Avenue) in Walnut Creek offers homeless residents, and those at risk of becoming homeless, a wide array of support services. The Center serves breakfast and hot lunch, provides laundry and shower facilities, mail service, access to telephones, clothing and toiletries, mail, food pantry, available job postings, onsite counselors, and advocacy for social services.
