Waste Management Program

In order to help meet the State required 50% reduction in landfill waste, the City of Walnut Creek has initiated a construction and demolition materials recycling program.  The following information will assist you in complying with this program.  These requirements are applicable to all "Coverd Projects", which are defined as projects for which:

• Demolition is greater than 300 square feet of surface area, and/or
• 1,000 square feet of construction, and/or
• Total costs are projected to be equal or greater than $50,000.

These documents will assist you when participating in the Waste Management Program.

•  PB-042 Guideline for Determining Demolition Area - Guideline to determine if your project will require a Waste Management Plan
•  Waste Management Plan - The plan is required prior to issuance of a permit.
•  FINAL Waste Management Report - The report is required prior to final of a permit.
•  Waste Management Receipt Form - May be used to document items received by individuals who do not normally issue receipts, such as when soil is hauled to a neighbor's residence and is used for engineered land fill.
•  C&D Waste Recovery & Disposal Certified Facility List - Please make a selection form one of these recognized receiving facilities.
•  Permitted Recyclers - Guide to permitted recycling haulers and transporters.
