The CA Health & Safety Code describes the requirements for the maintenance and duplication of official plans by the City of Walnut Creek. Copies of building permit records may be obtained with written permission from the original property owner, current property owner, or in the case of condominiums, from the board of directors or other governing body of the association established to maintain the condominiums.
Where the plans are signed and stamped by certified, licensed, or registered professional of records, the City will request written permission to copy the official plans from the certified, licensed, or registered professional, or his or her successor, if any. Successors means the individual, partnership or corporation which received ownership rights to the plans.
The records request process may take up to 30 days.
