  Fiscal Sustainability

Due to the economic downturn and other contributing factors, the programs, services and facilities Walnut Creek provides to the community will no longer be fiscally sustainable at current levels beginning with the 2014-16 Budget. To navigate the challenges that lie ahead, the City Council is holding a series of public meetings to consider the City’s priorities in providing services to the community and  the City’s priorities in providing the facilities that support delivery of these services.

The Council will be discussing these programs:

  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013                        Schools, Non-Profit and other Agency Support; Technology Infrastructure
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013                      Arts, Recreation and Open Space Classes and Camps
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013                       Facility Rentals & Capital Asset Recommendations (CBRTF)
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013                         Priority Service Evaluation - Aquatics; Performing and Visual Arts -- SCROLL DOWN FOR MEETING DOCUMENTS

All meetings will be held at City Hall and are open to the public. In addition, all meetings will be streamed live on our website and broadcast on Walnut Creek TV. Links to reports and meeting videos will be posted on this webpage.
