WIND INSTRUMENT INSTRUCTION

Native American Flute and Drum Workshop

Learn how to produce the fundamental tone and various techniques of the flute: tonguing, trills, breathe control, animal calls. You will also learn basic rhythms on drums from around the world. Both the flute and drums are beautiful instruments that are easy to learn and a great way for one to reflect, express and meditate whenever you feel it is right. If you do not have an a minor flute, you may purchase one from instructors for $100 (Cedar High Sprits flute- -retail $120).

Recorder 101

The recorder is an end blown woodwind instrument that is a great introduction to wind playing! Learn basic music reading skills while learning to play fun songs like ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb’, ‘Ode to Joy’, ‘Jingle Bells’ and many more. Supply fee: $10 payable in class includes books. Bring your own recorder.

Recorder Ensemble for Homeschoolers

For homeschool students who have either taken Recorder 101 or have learned basic reading skills and songs on their own. Continue working on music reading skills and also start learning scales and arpeggios. Learn songs as a group with a concentration on playing more duets, trios and quartets. Supply fee: $10 payable in class for music.
