  Creek Walk

Creeks are an important component in Walnut Creek life. Community groups organize creek clean-ups, and residents can enjoy the Walnut Creek channel by strolling the pedestrian creek walk and stopping at the scenic overlook by the Cantina restaurant on Broadway. The Creek Walk is a trail that begins at the old railroad bridge east of Civic Park ball field and winds its way through the park, past the creek overlook, and to Liberty Bell Plaza. It is dotted with interpretive signs along the route, telling the history of the creek and how important it is to keep it healthy. The overlook project involved replacing tall and unsightly fencing with a 42-inch-high wrought iron railing that allows easier viewing of the natural creek channel. The highlight of the overlook is a single nine-foot-tall, six-ton granite column with poetry about creeks etched into inch-thick glass.
