SPONSOR: Walnut Creek Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Disaster Animal Response Team (DART)
DESCRIPTION: Take a stroll in one of our neighborhoods and distribute emergency preparedness information (NOTE: we'll be leaving the printed information on front doorsteps, NO knocking on doors is required!) The information covers how to prepare your home, your family and pets for a disaster. LOCATION: Meet on the grassy area in front of the Heather Farm Community Center (look for the green popup tent with the CERT logo). From there, volunteers will be assigned to neighborhoods throughout the city. You must have your own transportation to get to your assigned neighborhood.
NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: 100 or more
AGE REQUIREMENTS: All ages welcome. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to walk approximately 1 mile to cover a neighborhood.
VOLUNTEERS SHOULD BRING: Comfortable walking shoes, hat, sunscreen, water, personal snacks (if needed); dress for weather, and wear layers if the morning is cool.
