PROJECT NAME: Improve Open Space Habitat

SPONSOR: Kiwanis Club of Walnut Creek & Walnut Creek Open Space Foundation

DESCRIPTION: Volunteers will rake dead weeds to prepare a new site for planting.

LOCATION: Lime Ridge North. End of Bayberry Drive (at Perada). Walk though barrier, left on Canal Trail, go through the gate on the right. Follow the trail, take right fork along the fence, go through the gate. A total of 200 yards from the end of Bayberry Drive.

NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: 20

AGE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum age 10. Volunteers under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Wear closed-toe shoes and clothing you do not mind getting dirty.

VOLUNTEERS SHOULD BRING: Sunscreen, hat, closed-toe shoes, water, and gardening or work gloves.
