  Howe Homestead Entrance Beautification

PROJECT NAME: Howe Homestead Entrance Beautification

SPONSOR: Walnut Creek Open Space Program

DESCRIPTION: A multitude of projects are planned to clean up and re-landscape the entrance to Howe Homestead Park. Projects include staining and repairing wood structures, preparing planting beds, creating a trail for a specialized garden, and installing a short block retaining wall.

LOCATION: Howe Homestead Park, 2950 Walnut Boulevard; meet at the Ranger station.

NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: 50

AGE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum age 12. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: We're looking for people with basic carpentry and/or gardening skills. Be prepared to use wheelbarrows and garden tools.

VOLUNTEERS SHOULD BRING: Sunscreen, protective clothing, closed-toe shoes, hat, gloves, water
