Water Rationing On June 3, 2009, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declared drought in the state of California. To conserve water in times of drought, water providers in Walnut Creek have asked their customers to help conserve. Walnut Creek is served by two water districts: Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) and East Bay Utility District (EBMUD). Depending on where you live or do business you receive water either CCWD or EBMUD. Be sure to keep checking with your water district for the latest conservation measures in effect.
Contra Costa Water District – Rationing program currently in effect As of May 1, 2009, CCWD has customer targets of 15% water usage reduction. For updates and more details about CCWD water rationing, click here.
East Bay Municipal Utilitiy District – Voluntary measures in effect The District is asking customers to voluntarily conserve by 10 percent. For updates and more information about EBMUD water rationing, click here.
